The training programme was held in Croatia and in Italy. Session one comprising 8 weekends (November 2004 to March 2005) was held in Croatia at the International Centre for the Education of Journalists, in the very centre of Opatija. Located in the Bay of Kvarner, Opatija is easy to reach by car, plane, train or ship. There are three international airports located nearby: Ronchi dei Legionari, Italy (1.5 hour drive), Brnik in Ljubljana, Slovenia and Pleso in Zagreb, Croatia. Opatija is just 15 kilometres from Rijeka, 75 km from Trieste, 2 ½ hours by car from Zagreb and 2 hours from Ljubljana.

Session two of the project was held in Portogruaro and Milan.

Part one of session two took place at the University Campus of Portogruaro (Venice), which is located on the border between the Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia regions. The University Campus at Portogruaro features a library, several multimedia halls, full internet access and a video-conferencing hall.
